Adolescent Health in the Age of COVID-19 / Lonna Gordon, MD, PharmD

Adolescents face a multitude of problems and experience many changes during this critical time in their life. With the addition of COVID, they are facing even more challenges of suddenly being at home with their parents, being away from their friends, along with others. Dr. Gordon will lead the group through 2 case studies based on experiences that she has had during the pandemic that will highlight some challenges adolescent physicians are facing especially in relation to social determinants of health and mental health care.

 

Workshop Faculty: Dr. Lonna Gordon, MD, PharmD

Lonna P. Gordon, MD, PharmD received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Florida A&M University and her Doctor of Medicine from Morsani College of Medicine at University of South Florida. She completed her pediatrics residency at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and her fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital Adolescent Health Center. Dr Gordon joined Nemours Children’s Hospital in 2018 and is currently the Associate Chief of Adolescent Medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics, adolescent medicine, and obesity medicine. Her professional interests include positive youth engagement, risk reduction, reproductive justice, and adolescent obesity.
